Barbie with a twist

Ever since William Tan came up with the idea of a completely different Barbie cake design all the cake decorators want to try it. It was such an inspiration and I was amongst them I have to admit.. I really really....I mean REALLY wanted to give it a go. And NO I did not use the tutorial as a lot of you have asked me already.
 I thought I'd change the colours of the dress and use two colours to make it more dramatic. A cake decorator had also mentioned in one of the comments saying that, 'I love the drama in her dress' So it worked I thought! :D

It's Frozen!

Dont you just love Disney Frozen. We watched it when it first came out in the cinemas. Before it was out I thought what's all the fuss about this movie and I didn't know until I actually saw it. Everything from the story to the characters to the songs its all something you want to watch and never forget. My daughter has memorized every dialogue and song from that movie. Aaanndddd... me on the other hand did what every cake decorator has in mind! MAKE THE CAKE! This was also a first time at trying proper figures. I wasnt entirely happy but just satisfied a bit knowing that I could actually make one if I attempted.

Just celebrated it today. Kept it very simple this year.
Red velvet filled with cream cheese frosting and decorated with mini buttercream roses.

So did ya'll have a good new year?! oh yeah I bet you did! The singing, the champagne, food, cake, friends and family <3 I go all mushy at moments like that :)
And we had Valentine's too! What did your better halves get you? Mine made a a lovely dinner....  <3
And I made him a Ferrero Rocher cake. First attempt at it, and it was finger licking good! I also took a short break for a short period to spend some family time together.
